A classic Bandol, the 2022 Bandol Rose reveals stunning aromas of grapefruit, spring flowers, guava, lemon and iodine. The wine on the palate is medium to full-bodied, combining a fleshy core of fruit and racy acids with impressive substance on the finish. It needs a couple of years in bottle, but you can already see the potential.
This shows a rare concentration, with orange Creamsicle, apple and dried herbs buoyed by minty freshness. There's a real prettiness as well, with rose petal high notes and bitter pithiness. Creamy and pure on the palate, this is a rosé of pedigree and depth that should age a bit too. Mourvèdre, Grenache and Cinsault. Drink now through 2028.
