Boscarelli's 1990 Proprietary Red Wine, a blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, hits the bull's eye. It exhibits an opaque ruby/purple color, and a sensational nose of smoky herbs, toasty new oak, and gobs of black-cherry and curranty fruit. Dense and full-bodied, with gobs of flavor, this multi-dimensional and multi-layered wine possesses a gorgeously succulent mid-palate, as well as a finish that lasts for 20-30 seconds. It is a knock-out example from this outstanding vintage in Tuscany.
