A round and velvety-textured red with berry, dark-chocolate and walnut character. It’s layered and impressive. Chewy yet polished. Needs a few years, but has a bright future. Try after 2025.
Dark maturing ruby. Brooding and a little rich on the nose and already showing some development. Generous and lush on the palate and could already be approached if it wasn’t for the gritty, tactile tannins that demand more time.
The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino is a spice box with an array of cedar and clove, giving way to dried strawberries and dusty rose. This is lifted and finessed, displaying fantastic energy. Crunchy red berry fruits cascade throughout, offset by orange hints. The 2019 finishes with dusty tannins while leaving a staining of primary concentration and a cheek-puckering tension. This is bursting with energy yet will require at least three to five years of cellaring to show its best.
