The 2008 Forster Kirchenstück Riesling Trocken GC comes from a cool and late-ripening vintage with hail damage. The harvest took place under strong pressure and had to be highly selective. The resulting Kirchenstück, tasted in April 2015, offers a bright and aromatic perfume on the delicate and elegant nose that displays fresh and stimulating but not very concentrated stone fruit aromas. Very elegant, piquant and fresh on the palate, with grapefruit and lemon aromas in the persistent and vibrant finish, this fine 2008 is still young but certainly accessible. There are tobacco flavors in the aftertaste. Very delicate indeed.
