1 x new 350 litre barrel from Chassin. Plenty of oak but with the elegance associated with this stylish tonnelier. There is clearly plenty of fruit volume as well. Excellent fresh mineral acidity. No dry wood tannins, maybe a little gunflint note, but this wine will be one to look out for. D
A pungent nose is comprised by wood toast and firm reduction. Much more interesting are the impressively dense and sappy larger-bodied flavors that possess both excellent power and volume, all wrapped in a beautifully long and balanced finale. Like several wines in the range, this is on the oaky side but the mid-palate density appears to be present for it to be successfully integrated with time in bottle. Lovely potential.
