The 2011 Corimbo was fermented in oak vats and seems like a serious red, with ripe, terse fruit, and is very fresh, which is truly remarkable for a vintage like 2011. The palate is medium-bodied with sleek, sophisticated tannins and great balance and harmony, ending a little hot. This is a serious Ribera, perhaps a little young.
Smoky and gamy notes frame black plum, tar and mineral flavors in this savory red. The polished texture is supported by firm tannins. A bit lean, but harmonious.
