The 2015 Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergheim is very intense, precise and deep on the nose and is more cool, spicy and earthy than the fruity 2014, displaying some green olive, avocado, tropical fruit and lemon flavors. The 2015 is full-bodied, sweet, finessed and elegant on the palate, provided with fine tannins, a good mineral grip and a stimulating bitterness in the finish. It is complex, finessed and elegant at the same time, very long and alluring. From this warm vintage this is a really stunning, gorgeous and seductive wine and great argument for the field blend.
The most golden fruits you can imagine just before they begin to turn and decay. A very rich and dense wine that somehow manages to be almost filigree. The sweetness is quite pronounced but not out of place. The finish is already very long, succulent and refined, but when this has to be aged a little bit longer in the bottle to be even more striking. Better from 2020. A complex field blend made from biodynamically grown grapes.
