The brilliant 2006 Le Dome (94) offers plenty of cassis and camphor as well as a terrific texture and that almost surreal lightness that comes from the high percentage of Cabernet Franc and what is obviously a top-flight vineyard. This elegant offering is not as dense as the 2008, but it is capable of lasting 15 or more years.
A very attractive wine, with berry, chocolate and light toasty oak on the nose and palate. Medium- to full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a medium, caressing finish. Very pretty, if young.
Rene Gabriel rates this wine 18/20 points.
