The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot unwinds in the glass with aromas of pear, citrus zest, fresh mint and warm bread. Medium to full-bodied, rich and concentrated, its satiny attack segues into a layered, tightly wound core framed by bright acids and chalky structuring extract. As ever, it's a benchmark rendition of this site.
Here too there is enough reduction to render a proper evaluation of the nose impossible. Otherwise, there is almost lavish richness to the still nicely vibrant and beautifully textured medium weight plus flavors that manage to retain reasonably good delineation on the lingering finale that could also use slightly better complexity.
