Pale blueish(!) crimson. Quite complex, evolved nose. Fresh and vital and could only be burgundy. Very flirtatious and arguably more typically Volnay than many of the more concentrated examples. Light to medium weight and transparent. Very direct with a hint of liquorice. Polished. Racy. Compact.
A backward but supremely elegant, pure and refined nose features airy and lacy red pinot fruit and delineated, intense and almost pungently mineral middle weight plus flavors that are classy and penetrating on the laser-like finish. This is a classic Taillepieds and patience will be required for it to really open up and display its full potential. An altogether lovely wine and recommended.
