Revealing a healthy green-hued color, the rich, ripe, dense and butter-scented Corton-Charlemagne is a first-rate offering. Intensely deep and concentrated, this wine possesses a highly-focused, and velvety-textured full body replete with flavors of chalk and buttered lemons.
To die for, or almost. Deep on the nose but extremely backward, only hinting at the explosive stuff we find on the palate: honey, dried herbs, mineral, mocha and spices. As full-bodied and as smooth in texture as a Chardonnay can get, it still manages to kick in with amazing lime-spiked acidity on the long, long finish. Buy a case of this if you can find it and afford it. To die for, or almost.
