Residual secondary fermentation aromas dominate the nose and they extend to the palate as well though there is fine underlying tension to the detailed and lingering finale. This was frankly difficult to judge but my projected range should be reasonably accurate.
Vineyard on the Puligny border.
Much richer and quite buttery in style. Thicker texture, even tannic. Ponsot suggests wood-style notes from the vines’ roots. (MH)
Clean pale lemon and lime colour. The bouquet is crystalline and classy, with quite a powerful ripe greengage fruit, and a certain richness in alcohol on the palate. An attractive if punchy version, a little easier to read than it was a year ago.
