The 2015 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Pucelles is superb, wafting from the glass with notes of yellow stone fruit, iodine and noble reduction—its bouquet more reserved than the Perrières and Combettes which preceded it in our tasting. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and elegantly glossy, with grand cru depth and dimension, sustained by superb cut and tension.

Bright, light yellow. Explosive perfume of musky peach, nectarine, orange blossom and spices. Large-scaled and round, conveying an almost honeyed impression of sweetness. Really vibrates and mounts on the long, spicy back end. But this big boy will need some time in the bottle for its middle palate to come into better focus.

A beautifully layered nose combines notes of honeysuckle, citrus, sandalwood and spiced pear. The dense, serious and surprisingly powerful flavors possess a gorgeous mouth feel while delivering positively huge length on the wonderfully persistent finish. I really like the texture and this is a picture perfect rendition of the vineyard.
