Bursting with aromas of orange oil, green apple, toasted bread and white flowers, the 2018 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Clos de la Chatenière is medium to full-bodied, with a rounder, fleshier profile than the Derrière Chez Edouard, but similarly tensile and mineral in underlying structure. Long and penetrating, this is built to age.
Cask sample. Minerally nose and very finely sculpted. Long and dense and multilayered. But not cheap! Lots of effort evident in this wine. (JR)
A pretty and pale colour, with well-integrated oak alongside the fruit on the nose. This is particularly youthful with a great deal more still to develop. Oak, fruit and acidity all in harmony. Definitely one for the future. DIAM30 closure.
