A new cuvée of pinot noir in 2022, half from the Mâconnais and half from Les Boutières in the commune of Savigny. 2022 is the only year that it will be made in this way, as in 2023 Catharina has a second plot of Les Boutières and has not continued with the Mâconnais grapes. The 2022 follows Catharina's preferred 80% whole bunch vinification rule and has a pretty crimson to ruby colour. The wine is not quite coherent at this early stage, with the acidity sticking out a bit. I would not be at all surprised, though, to see this wine grow from here.
A blend of fruit from the Mâconnais with grapes from Boutières in the commune of Savigny-lès-Beaune, the 2022 Bourgogne Des Six Ifs is the most muscular wine in the range, its bouquet of cherries, dark berries and licorice segueing into a medium to full-bodied, rich and youthfully rustic palate with a sweet core of fruit framed by plenty of ripe, powdery tannins.
