According to Jacques Carillon, the winemaker for Louis Carillon, yields were 60% below average in his Puligny-Montrachet Champ Canet due to the spring frost. The 1998 offers aromas of flowers and white fruits. This broad, peach, roasted apricot, and tangy, lemon-flavored wine is medium-bodied and has excellent focus. Its plump finish reveals good richness of fruit. Drink it over the next 6 years.
Beautiful Puligny. Much vanilla bean, spice and ripe fruit are integrated in the superbly silky texture of this medium- to full-bodied white. Seductive, slightly toasted finish.
