The 2019 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Hommage à Marguerite is also showing nicely, mingling hints of citrus zest and crisp green apple with notions of warm bread and nutmeg. Medium to full-bodied, layered and elegantly textural, it's rich but controlled, with racy underlying acids and a long finish.
Blend of three parcels (Les Combes, ‘exotic’ En Créot and ‘mineral’ Les Perrières), all domaine fruit, and named after his grandmother, mother of his father, who died in 2016. Tank sample.
Almost fat! Lots of richness and impact. Real chiselled structure but there’s a whack of refined fruit here. Splashy impact!
Here too there is a hint of matchstick character to the apple compote, fennel and lemon zest aromas. There is better volume to the delicious, rich and seductively texture middle weight flavors that possess an underlying chalkiness that carries over to the lemony finale. Note that this too could be approached on the younger side.
A blend of 1ers crus Combes, Créot and Perrières. There is a lighter green tint here, with very elegant, albeit ripe fruit, some pears, followed by tight lemon and lime citrus acidity. Fair balance Tasted: September 2020.
