The 2014 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru is stunning, busting from the glass with a beautiful nose of trademark Ramonet mint, crisp green apple, pear, citrus, iodine and an elegant framing of new oak. On the palate, the wine reveals beautiful purity and balance, with a glossy, expansive attack combined with real cut and tension through the finish. Like all the Ramonet 2014s, this will benefit from time in the cellar, and readers would be advised to approach the more precocious 2015 and 2013 renditions before pulling corks on this vintage.
