From a parcel planted in 1954, the 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Tête du Clos has turned out very well this year, offering up aromas of citrus oil, fresh bread, green mango and confit lemon. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, textural but incisive, with fine depth at the core, ripe but racy acids and a long, mineral finish.
Planted in 1954. Vincent finds some similarity here to Chevalier-Montrachet in the white marl soil and 300m altitude. It is true that the 2018 Tête du Clos offers a spine-tingling bouquet and then a really gracious long and complex finish.
