A distinctly earthy nose is also on the timid side though it does eventually offer up notes of poached plum and soft floral wisps. I very much like the texture of the caressing yet refined flavors that exude a fine bead of minerality on the youthfully austere, firm and compact finish. This is sufficiently tight to need at least a few years of cellaring.
Sappy and lightly smoky red fruits on the nose. Quite soft and refined for Pommard on the palate. Supple, plentiful tannins frame sweet strawberry and cherry. The fruit has a floral, lifted edge and this is overall an elegant Pommard with surprising approachability. (TP)
