Jancis Robinson (17)

When bottled carries the name Christophe Roumier. Cask sample.
Clear, bright mid-pale ruby. Sweet red fruits with a veil of wafted violets. Lots of spice and concentration here. Mineral – makes me think of the graphite running through a pencil. Ripe, concentrated and precisely defined. Excellent definition. (MH)

Vinous (97)

The 2022 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru contains just over 75% whole bunches. The bouquet is initially terse and ruthlessly mineral-driven: wet limestone and petrichor scents merging with aloof black fruit. The medium-bodied palate is lightly spiced with very fine tannins. It is very cohesive, with a granular texture that seems to coat the mouth. In some ways, it’s an uncompromising Ruchottes but also honest and soulful. It will age with style.

Burghound (96)

An exuberantly floral-suffused nose is also cool, pure and airy with its aromas of the essence of wild red currant and truffle hints. The super-sleek, intense and chiseled middleweight flavors are almost as mineral-driven as the Les Cras though with more power on the youthfully austere and hugely persistent finish. This is superb and highly recommended.

Jasper Morris (99)

An even ruby of medium intensity. A startlingly fine and even bouquet, gracefully perfumed, very refined, alpine strawberry with some rose notes. Exquisite with fine tensile strength, all the detailed latticework of Ruchottes, very persistent. Tiptoes gently across the universe. Precise, mineral, and exquisite.
