The dark ruby-colored 1999 Musigny has lovely aromas of violets, blueberries, and candied cherries. Medium-bodied and deep, it is filled with red fruits, stones, pomegranates, and strawberries. Loads of supple, ripe tannins can be discerned in its fresh, long, pure finish.
Nice concentration of fruit and oak complexity. Medium-bodied, with blackberries and toasted and smoky notes. Plenty of toasted oak and chocolate on the finish, which kicks in with fresh acidity. Well-made.
Rene Gabriel rates this wine 20/20 points.
