A fuller purple, showing an exuberant cherry raspberry fruit, with energy behind, and a little thread of acidity. From barrel, this stands head and shoulders above its neighbours. A touch of strawberry too in the long, satisfying finish.
Bright, mid ruby. Richer and more concentrated. Raspberry and fraises des bois on the nose and palate, quite concentrated on the palate and really rather opulent! Gourmand, as the French say. Lovely freshness on the finish.
Slightly riper and equally cool and airy aromas are comprised by notes of plum, violet and star anise that are also trimmed in discreet wood. As one would reasonably expect, there is more volume and richness to the opulent and generously proportioned flavors that possess a seductive texture while offering just a bit more depth and persistence on the balanced and firm finale. Lovely and a wine that should reward mid-term keeping.
