Tasted at the Comte Liger-Belair vertical at the Château de Vosne. The 2013 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Grandes Vignes is reticent on the nose at first, but unfolds with aeration to reveal brisk red cherries and wild strawberry fruit interlaced with orange peel. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin, a fine line of acidity, cohesive and focused with a long-sustained, lightly spiced finish. This is showing more class than its white counterpart.
