Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting in Beaune, the 2013 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru has a refined and delineated bouquet with vibrant red cherry and strawberry fruit, fine mineralité, an underlying cool stoniness. The palate is medium-bodied with supple red cherry and red plum notes, fine tannin and well integrated new oak. This has an almost seamless texture, gliding across the mouth, but also with wonderful freshness and tension from start to finish. This is an outstanding example from the 2013 vintage - this appears to be on an upward trajectory.
