The 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin, which comes from several parcels, has a light, dark-berry, forest floor-scented bouquet that opens ajar in the glass. The palate is more promising with supple tannins, plenty of fruit and fine definition and focus on the finish. Once the aromatics open then this will be a fine village cru.
An airy and relatively expressive nose combines notes of various red berries with Gevrey-style earth and a sauvage hint. The supple, round and utterly delicious middle weight flavors possess a subtle hint of minerality on the sappy and mouth coating finish. This is a fine Gevrey villages that should drink well young if desired.
