The 2009 Vosne-Romanee Les Beaux Monts is super-finessed from the very first taste. Freshly cut flowers, roses, raspberries and cinnamon are all woven together beautifully in this layered, impeccably refined Vosne. The finish is all class and elegance. Perrot-Minot used 25% whole clusters on the Beaux Monts.

In contrast to the expressiveness of many of the preceding wines, this is pretty, spicy and ripe yet quite somber with its dark berry fruit and wet stone aromas. The seductively textured and very finely delineated flavors brim with both minerality and dry extract that pushes the otherwise firm tannic spine to the background on the cool, long, balanced and very classy finish. Lovely stuff and a classic Beaux Monts.
