The 2009 Morey St. Denis Vieilles Vignes is a gorgeous, striking wine. It exhibits notable density in a rich, yet weightless expression of fruit that is hard to fully capture with words. The bright red fruit blossoms on the palate with tons of fragrance and elegance, building nicely to the long, intense finish. The Vieilles Vignes is made from parcels in Faconnieres and Chenevery planted in 1936 on soils similar to those found in Clos de la Roche. Yields here are typically around 20-25 hectoliters, with a high presence of shot berries.
