The 2013 Clos de Vougeot Cuvée Vieilles Vignes, like many of Laurent Ponsot's barrels samples, displayed a touch of reduction on the nose. The palate might be a little chewy on the entry, however, there is plenty of substance here with pastille-like black fruit and a tightly wound, almost sinewy finish. Give this a few years in bottle is my advice
Racked. Blackish crimson. Racy and perfumed with good structure. Polished and firm ? very dry and directed. Solid and a bit workmanlike rather than heady and hedonistic. Just a bit severe at the moment.
