The 2012 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Amoureuses was picked on 24 September and includes 15% whole cluster fruit, which makes its mark on the nose, infusing the fruit with allspice and cloves. It expands beautifully in the glass – a quintessential Amoureuses. The palate is medium-bodied with silky smooth, velvety tannins that caress the sumptuous finish that belies that structure underneath. Long and assertive on the aftertaste, this will require several years in bottle. Superb.
