Cask sample. Mid-deep ruby. Spicy red fruits and fruits des bois. Complex, concentrated with a finish mixing exotic notes with woodsy, earthy complexity. Very fine. (MH)
Riper aromas are comprised by notes of spiced plum, exotic tea, violet and a whiff of wood toast. There is again fine richness, volume and mid-palate density to the caressing but punchy and solidly powerful flavors that stain the mouth with sappy dry extract while delivering even better persistence on the balanced and built-to-age finale. An excellent Ech.
An attractive mid crimson. There is a light touch to the nose, not unexpected in Echezeaux. The fruit comes across a softer a little more evolved, more strawberry than raspberry. Some peppery notes behind, so one could have imagined whole bunch. Very nuanced, attractive if slightly less precise. This reminds me of the style of the 2000 vintage.
