Jasper Morris MW: ‘Cuvée du Tilleul’. Pure bright purple. Quite a dense backward purple. Rich and gracious but despite the late picking this has held up better than some wines I have tasted elsewhere which have become too soft. Raspberry notes, enough acidity, and good length.
Succulent red fruit, almost syrupy on the nose. Plenty of sweet spices. If this isn’t oaked, it’s doing an uncanny impression of it. Finely ground tannin that gives quite a lot of chew. The finish is surprisingly intense and powerful after a reasonably straightforward palate, with a hint of smoke. (RH)
