A kaleidoscopically spicy nose requires aggressive swirling to reveal its ethereal aromas of red cherry, dark currant, violet, lilac, exotic tea, anise and warm earth. The equally gorgeously textured large-scaled yet refined and detailed flavors are at once lilting but powerful, all wrapped in a youthfully austere, focused and balanced finish that offers knockout good length. This dazzling effort is also incredibly structured, yet it carries its very, very firm tannins with class and grace. In a word, superb.
