The 2012 Marsannay Village comes from two parcels from a grower in the center of the village. It has a pretty bouquet with smudged strawberry and cranberry scents, hints of vanilla just in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly coarse tannins but decent fruit that give way to a chalky finish. Fine.
Black cherry, black currant, iron and earth flavors mingle in this intense red. Complex and juicy, with an underlying mineral element on the lingering finish.
