Harvested at 13.5% natural potential alcohol and one of the few wines that Meo didn’t acidify, the fabulous 2003 Nuits-St.-Georges Les Argillats (Maison) displays intensely spicy dark fruit scents. Ample, medium to full-bodied, and seductive, this sensual wine slathers the palate with cassis liqueur, candied black cherries as well as blackberries, clove, and juniper berries. Its velvety-textured personality exhibits a long, seamless finish filled with supple, sweet tannin.

Earthy, dark and somber aromas of both red and black berry fruit and this too offers much better precision than is typical for the vintage with sweet and very ripe medium full flavors that offer solid complexity and excellent length. There is no finishing rusticity either and I particularly like the texture here.
