The climat Montaigu (rendered in its historic spelling on the label) is a ripe, precocious site, so Fouquet bottles it on its own only in cooler vintages these days. The 2013 Extra-Brut Grand Cru Le Mont-aigu has turned out brilliantly, delivering aromas of sweet citrus fruits, peach, white flowers and warm bread. Full-bodied, layered and complete, it's racy and concentrated, with a pinpoint mousse and a long, resonant finish. It was disgorged in October 2019.
