Disgorged in January 2020 with 1.5 grams per liter dosage, Sélèque's 2015 Extra-Brut Soliste Meunier Pierry 1er Cru Les Gouttes d'Or is showing very well indeed, unfurling in the glass with hints of waxy pear, ripe apple, orange oil, red berries and buttery pastry. Medium to full-bodied, vinous and layered, with a fleshy core of fruit, racy acids and a pretty pinpoint mousse, it's concentrated and enveloping, concluding with a long, saline finish. While it's already drinking with real generosity, I suspect more complexity will emerge with age on cork.
