Vibrant and harmonious, with a pleasing range of ripe pear and nectarine, toast point and salted almond, candied lemon peel and spun honey riding the finely detailed bead. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
A 50/50 blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Five years on the lees. Interesting to taste this straight after the Domaine Carneros 2018. Completely different: fresher aroma of citrus and more subtle in its aroma, which is both pure citrus and a delicate yeasty character but just a little bit cedary, which does remind me of the Domaine Chandon. Tight, with a fine mousse but expands across the palate on the finish. Impressive length. (JH)
