Very firm and crisp on the palate, with notes of peach skin, oyster shell and pickled ginger.
From Montagne de Reims. 100% premier cru from two single vineyards: Chardonnay (94%) from Les Blanches Terres and Pinot Noir (6%) from Saint Lié. 15% barrel fermented and no malolactic fermentation. Aged on the lees for 22 months. Base wine is 2018 plus 60% reserve wine. 4,024 bottles produced. Disgorged 21 December 2020. Dosage 6 g/l.
Tasted blind. Pale red, saignée appearance. Smells like a red wine! Does not conform to a stereotype of a pink sparkling wine. Lightly bitter with lots of fruit. Gone out on a limb. A good drink!
