The 2000 Barolo Sorano, with a nose of red fruit, leather, and licorice, is a solid wine with good intensity and depth and much continuity. Only a slight dryness on the finish keeps the score from going higher. Drink: 2005-2016. Not as good as the first-rate 1999s and the excellent 2001s waiting to be released, this wine nonetheless holds its own quite well in the context of a more difficult vintage.
