A brilliant 100% Sangiovese cuvee aged in both French and American oak for six months, this consistently well-made wine (3,300 cases) boasts a deep ruby color in addition to a sweet nose of black cherries, vanillin, minerals, and tobacco. Medium-bodied, fleshy, and well-balanced, with superb purity as well as overall harmony, this classy, concentrated red marries finesse with power.
Complex aromas of black licorice, violets and currants follow through to a medium- to full-bodied palate with velvety tannins and a smoky berry aftertaste.
