The 1998 Percarlo is very beautiful. I don’t quite find the personality and character of the surrounding years such as 1996 and 1997, but this is a wine that still impresses, mostly for its overall sense of harmony. At this stage, I don’t imagine the 1998 will improve much, but it has more than enough depth and sheer pedigree to continue to drink well for another decade or so.

Mature, with elements of cherry, currant and spice. Fresh and lively, offering firm, well-integrated tannins and a lingering finish.
