The 2005 Le Serre Nuove is the second wine of Ornellaia. In top vintages it is the hidden gem in this lineup from a price to quality perspective. The 2005 reveals gorgeous aromatics along with sweet black cherries, blackberries, spices, smoke and toasted oak. It is a delicate, feminine wine to enjoy over the next decade or so. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2018.
Chewy and structured, with lots of berry and vanilla cream aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, with lovely concentration. Slightly hollow at the moment, but should come together with bottle age. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Best after 2009. 12,610 cases made
