The 2005 Heritage Pinot Noir is a selection of the best nine barrels, a tribute to David Herd who founded the first commercial vineyard in Auntsfield in the 1870s. The 2005 is blended with the only remaining bottle of 1905 and has a seductive, nuanced nose of brambly black fruit, wild strawberry and loganberry with superb definition. The palate displays superb concentration, very cohesive with notes of raspberry, dark cherry and plum, leading to a tense, engaging minerally finish. Outstanding (though unsure how much the 1905 contributed to the blend!)
