The 2020 Grand Cru Schlossberg Riesling opens with warm and balanced, ripe and very elegant fruit with flinty notes. Supple, round and juicy on the palate, with fine tannins and lingering salinity, this is a quite powerful Schlossberg with a still slightly bitter finish. This will develop with more bottle age. This has 3.7 grams per liter of residual sugar and 13.6% stated alcohol.
This has rich stone-fruit aromas and a touch of something exotic, the balance of fruit and mineral freshness very impressive, the power and concentration underplayed until you get to the long, complete finish, where they show their hand strongly.
