The 2015 Beaune 1er Cru Les Grèves was totally de-stemmed and raised in 20% new oak. It is quite feisty at first, although it calms down in the glass, here a melange of red and black fruit whilst the oak needs a couple more months to be fully assimilated. The palate is medium-bodied with juicy ripe tannin, bright red cherry and strawberry on the entry with a pleasant piquancy towards the finish. This is one of the best Beaunes from Jacques Prieur this year.
