Notes of white flowers, blanched almonds and crisp stone fruit preface the 2022 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Sous Roche Dumay, a medium-bodied, ample and glossy wine that's bright and saline, concluding with a delicately chalky finish.
More green than yellow in colour. There is a clear austere intensity to the fruit on the nose, a little more generous on the palate even with some muscatty notes, properly ripe fruit in the flavour profile. I am still getting my head round Joseph’s style, the conjunction of the lean and the ripe. Drink from 2025-2028.
