Monopole. Cask sample.
Mid crimson. Very attractive hint of violets on the nose. Already pretty charming with its floral fruit and fine, well-managed tannins. One of the more obviously sweet wines. (JR)
Here a brooding and more restrained nose is spicier still with its blend of ripe red berries, soft earth and hint of oak. The rich, full-bodied and powerful medium-bodied flavors are blessed with an abundance of dry extract that imparts a sappy mouthfeel while buffering the firm tannic spine shaping the balanced and impressively persistent finish. This is excellent and also well-worth considering.
Fresh purple of medium depth. Much the liveliest bouquet with its concentration of raspberries, very complete and absolutely delicious. The finish continues gorgeously, this will make a beautiful bottle with a little patience. This Clos des Ursules shows the classic peacock’s fantail of aromatics. Drink from 2030-2038.
The 2022 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Ursules (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot) unwinds in the glass with aromas of sweet berries, cherries, spices and vine smoke. Medium to full-bodied, layered and seamless, with sweet, powdery tannins and a long, spicy finish, this site, an enclave in Vignes Franches that's one of the house's emblematic wines, always performs well.
