Robert Parker (91)

The 2011 Gevrey-Chambertin Villages from Claude Dugat reveals a complex bouquet of cassis, black cherry, bitter cocoa, warm spice and subtle grilled meats—the prelude to an intense, full-bodied wine with a deep core of fruit and supple, ripe tannins, considerable incipient complexity and impressive authority through the long finish. The synergy between barrel and wine here is especially effective. Terrific stuff considering the vintage, and though this has considerable upside, it's a comparatively accessible rendition of Dugat's Gevrey village that will deliver a lot of pleasure in its youth.

This is also quite fresh and pure though here there is even a touch of elegance with the airy and cool aromas of red currant, underbrush and Gevrey style earth. There is a touch of the sauvage to the quite supple and round medium-bodied flavors that exhibit attractive hints of minerality on the delicious, vibrant, mouth coating and lingering finish. Good stuff.
