The 2013 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru les Pruliers has a fragrant, floral bouquet with wilted violets infusing the red berry fruit. There is good intensity here, quite lush at this early juncture. The palate is finely balance with a silky texture, smooth in the mouth with a cohesive, velvety finish that is very promising once this is bottled. In a word - seductive.
Here the aromas are not quite as ripe as those of the Cherbaudes yet there is good freshness to the bright if distinctly earthy aromas of spice-infused red, blue and dark pinot fruit. There is good energy to the tension-filled middle weight flavors that are blessed with plenty of palate coating dry extract before culminating in a firm finish where the acidity is prominent without being aggressive.
